Casamento americano

Na América,
eu ponho meu anel
no seu pau
que é o lugar dele.
Nenhum cavaleiro
trazendo o terror
ou soldado apocalíptico
há de chegar
e chagar nossa união.
Eles estão ocupados
demais pilhando
a terra para nos ver.
Eles não sabem
que nos precisamos
criticamente.
Esperam que tiremos licença médica,
fiquemos a noite toda perante a TV,
morramos por nossas próprias mãos.
Eles não sabem
que estamos reunindo forças.
A cada beijo
confirmamos o novo mundo.
O que a rosa sussurra
antes de abrir
prometo a você.
Eu dou a você meu coração,
uma casa segura.
Eu dou a você promessas outras que
leite, mel, liberdade.
Eu presumo que você sempre
será um homem livre com um sonho.
Na América,
eu coloco o seu anel
no meu pau
que é o lugar dele.
Que vivamos muito
para libertar este sonho.

American Wedding
Essex Hemphill
In America,
I place my ring
on your cock
where it belongs.
No horsemen
bearing terror,
no soldiers of doom
will swoop in
and sweep us apart.
They’re too busy
looting the land
to watch us.
They don’t know
we need each other
critically.
They expect us to call in sick,
watch television all night,
die by our own hands.
They don’t know
we are becoming powerful.
Every time we kiss
we confirm the new world coming.
What the rose whispers
before blooming
I vow to you.
I give you my heart,
a safe house.
I give you promises other than
milk, honey, liberty.
I assume you will always
be a free man with a dream.
In America,
place your ring
on my cock
where it belongs.
Long may we live
to free this dream.
