GOD’S WORK

«God's work ‑ how great his power!» said he
As we gazed out upon the sea
Beating the beach tumultuously
        Round the land-head.

The vessel then strikes with a crash,
Over her deck the waters rash
Make horror deep in rent and gash.
        «God's work» , I said.
