Ramón Sender Barahona was born on February 3, 1901, in Chalamera, Huesca. He was a prominent figure in 20th-century Spanish literature, especially during the Second Republic and the Spanish Civil War. As a journalist, he worked for various newspapers and published novels that explored themes such as the struggle for land, social injustice, and Aragonese identity. Among his best-known works are 'Crónica del Alba' and 'Réquiem por un Campesino Español'. Sender was also actively involved in politics, which led him into exile after the Civil War.
