1865–1918 · lived 53 years BR BR

Olavo Bilac was a Brazilian poet, journalist, and professor, widely considered one of the greatest names of Parnassianism in Brazil. His work is marked by formal perfection, metrical rigor, and themes focused on love, country, and classical ideals. Bilac is known for his exaggerated nationalism and his skill in versifying, having been one of the founders of the Brazilian Academy of Letters.
