Salvador Espriu i Castelló was born in Santa Coloma de Farners, Catalonia. He studied Law at the University of Barcelona, but his passion for literature led him to dedicate himself to writing. During the Spanish Civil War, his work was banned by the Franco regime. Despite the difficulties, Espriu continued to write in Catalan, defending Catalan culture and identity. His poetry is known for its musicality, rich vocabulary, and philosophical depth. Among his most important works are 'Cementiri de Sinera', 'El caminant i el mur', and 'La pell de brau'. He received several literary awards throughout his career. He passed away in 1985.
